A Community Based Organization or (CBO) is a nonprofit that writes Safety Rules that have been recognized by the FAA as alternative lawful rules to fly under. These entities can help establish FRIAs in areas or properties where you own the property or have an property agreement with the property owner, Municipality, or Park Manager.
Here are some Community Based Organizations to learn more about their Safety Rules
FAA Recognized Identification Area or (FRIA). This is an area that it is lawful to fly Remote Controlled Aircraft, FPV, Drones, or Line of Sight without Remote ID modules.
A CBO can fast track a temporary FRIA for a race so that participants in the race do not have to use Remote ID on their Race Drones in this area during the race.
How to Apply for a FRIA through the FAA: https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/remote_id/fria
Remote ID is an extra module transponder(GPS) that integrates with your FVP video so that the output Identifies the video location and the FPV pilot for Commercially operated Drones and recreational drones flown outside of FRIAs.
Note: There are exceptions where you do not need a Remote ID.
